London Youth for Christ respects and honours our community partners, volunteers and youth and their families, their right to be treated courteously, fairly and have their privacy protected. London Youth for Christ is committed to complying with the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act of 1988. Personal information is given in good faith by partners and donors and will only be used to maintain or enhance their relationship with London Youth for Christ and the impact of their partnership in community. Only Partners information is given only to staff members whom they directly partner with. Similarly, London Youth for Christ will protect the rights of youth and their families, providing only such information deemed necessary and appropriate to share the impact of London Youth for Christ’s programs with our partners and donors. London Youth for Christ upholds the Statement of Commitment to Child Protection. Our commitment to Jesus Christ and concern for youth is the cornerstone upon which London Youth for Christ has been built. London Youth for Christ will monitor and restrict the amount and frequency of educational and marketing material sent to partners. London Youth for Christ will allow community partners and donors to remove their name from mailing lists. As an advocate for youth in the city of London, London Youth for Christ will inform and educate community partners about youth poverty, their needs and opportunities and our response to engage, equip and empower youth to discover and realize their full potential through vital relationships.
Collection, use and management of information
Personal information is only collected when necessary and is supplied with consent. Individuals or groups can, for instance, make an anonymous donation or enquiry. Prospective sponsors can visit our website anonymously. Marketing surveys for the purposes of improving customer service, for example, can be completed anonymously.
Protecting your information
London Youth for Christ has put in place procedural, physical and electronic means to safeguard the personal information of our donors and partners. London Youth for Christ has also verified the security and privacy provisions of other organizations with whom we provide information about donors and partners. These include our bank and mail house. London Youth for Christ will not rent, exchange or sell mailing lists of our donors and partners to other organizations. Donor and partner information is kept both in hard copy and electronic forms. In either case, London Youth for Christ has documented procedures to safeguard this information. Safeguards include storing copies of the information off-site. Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Encryption is used when collecting or transferring credit card information via the Internet, ensuring a secure environment for the transfer of your confidential data from your browser to our financial institution using the latest encryption technology.
Correcting your information
London Youth for Christ is committed to allowing donors and partners to see and correct information that is shown to be incorrect or outdated. London Youth for Christ staff will clearly identify themselves when making contact with donors and partners, and all letters and marketing materials will contain London Youth for Christ’s logo and contact details.
