Tuesdays 4:30pm-6:30pm ~ FREE ~ Blue Room
High school students are in training and learning in areas of community, peer leadership, volunteerism, and preparing for the work-place in the Blue Room. Opportunities for volunteering and peer-leading in and around the HUB are offered on Tuesday nights as well as additional dates for special events. Volunteer hours will be signed off for satisfactory participation in training and participation in volunteer activities.
Wednesdays 4:30pm-6:30pm ~ 2.00/youth ~ Cafe
Youth ages 12-17 work together in cooking dinner and desserts with staff and volunteers in our beautiful cafe kitchen. We take time to learn cooking skills that can be applied safely and successfully at home. Once the cooking is done, we clean up, set the table, and sit for a meal together in the cafe. This time around the table is used to talk with youth about issues in their lives and explore personal faith.
Special Activity: Cooking Group (Wednesdays 4:30-6:30)
Cooking group is for youth ages 12-18 to learn some basic kitchen skills and get comfortable with dinner recipes that they can make at home. We learn, create, taste, and sometimes compete, but there is always dinner to look forward to at the end. We take a break in the middle of class to play a group game and invite other youth to enjoy what we made during Family Meal.
Thursdays 4:30pm-5:30pm ~ FREE ~ Cafe
Youth aged 12-17 gather for treats and open discussion in the cafe. With talks rooted in the Bible, and in a safe, no-judgement environment, we bring questions of faith to youth for the chance to explore their beliefs and develop character.Youth are invited to ask, challenge, debate, and explore what they think. The goal of this program is to give youth an open and caring environment to discover areas of faith.
Come with your questions and an open mind. All youth are welcome! Treats will be served.
